My name is Maja Giguere. I am a film producer. From documentary filmmaking to narrative films and murder mysteries, I have the skills to tackle all kind of projects. I have produced (and assistant directed) over 20 short films in the last year including “The Fly” which was selected for the 2024 Big Shoulder’s International Film Festival and won Best experimental short. As well as the recent “Dreamcrusher” mystery series that aired March 2025 on Reveel.

 I am known for my excellent communication skills, my network, my ability to handle difficult situations and for being the person you call when you are in a pinch and need something ASAP. I am a resourceful problem solver.

I am someone who likes to have fun in life but I take my career very seriously. I am a very social, out-going person, who is self-motivated and a hard worker. I bring very positive energy to any set I am on and am very calm in a crisis.

My career journey has been interesting to say the least. Graduating with Honors from Rhode Island College with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Media Studies, I have always loved media. I took classes through High School from Rhode Island School of Design in video editing and photography and fell in love with documentary film in undergrad. I segment produced for an episode of “Our Town” on PBS and was a freelance videographer and editor for many many years.

I worked in political news as a producer and doubled up in marketing for our station where I began my career in marketing. I received a certificate from Columbia Business School in Digital Marketing and continued that work so I could afford to continue to work in film.

Currently I am finishing up my work towards an MFA in Film and Media Art from Emerson College and currently am in pre-production for my Thesis film - a hybrid documentary exploring childhood trauma into adulthood and what that looks like, using my strained relationship with my dad as a case study.

I love taking a story and bringing it to life. I love the logistics behind taking something from idea to something tangible. Producing and working with a crew is my passion and I will continue to work hard and fight for my dreams for the rest of my life.
